Lots of Special Memories ~ My May Highlights

May has been a great month! It was filled with some really fun times and really special memories.

~In the beginning of the month my friend who is getting married had her bridal shower. It was a fun evening. Later in the month my friend (the bride) and the bridesmaids, and I went shoe shopping and we found shoes for all of us to wear for the wedding.

~The last book club for the school year happened. I’m not doing the book club through the summer, but  Lord willing I’ll be starting the book club back up in the fall. I love doing the book club and can’t wait to start back up.

~Mother’s Day was a fun day. We made dinner for my mom then we played a game as a family and just had a nice time.

~Three friends of mine and I had a When Calls the Heart marathon for season 5! It was really fun. Well, sad too. I had to go through heartbreak again, but it was still fun.

~I went to see I Can Only Imagine yet again. ;) I saw it with my mom and two of my siblings this time. I’m looking forward to it coming out on DVD next month.

~My brothers and I finished watching Full House! I’ve now seen all 192 episodes. Well, 193 if you count the un-aired pilot. ;)

~Jonathan graduated from high school. I can’t believe it.
It brought back memories of my own graduation day. ;)

~A few days after the graduation we had an open house party. It was a fun evening (and early morning!) visiting with friends.

~We ate dinner as a family at Chick-Fil-A at 9:30 in the evening. By the time the graduation ceremony was over it was getting late and we were all starving.

~Today I sold books at the homeschool used curriculum sale. It was pretty fun and I was able to sell quite a few books, that was really nice!

~On May 17, I got the opportunity to meet in person for the first time my very good friend, Faith!! :D Faith and I have been pen-pal friends for 2 and a 1/2 years and this was the first time we met in person and heard each others voices! It was a super special time. My family and Faith’s met up at Arctic Circle and visited. Then the next day Faith and I hung out together for the morning and it was so fun!

How was May for you? What was one of your favorite memories?

The Hallmark Movie Tag!

I really enjoy Hallmark movies! There are some I didn't exactly care for, but for the most part, I just really like them! So today I am here doing the Hallmark Movie Tag!

Okay, so really the only rules are to answer the questions and tag some Hallmark loving friends!

1. What's the best Hallmark Christmas movie you've seen?
I have so many Christmas movies that I like, so it's really hard to pick just one, but one of my top favorites is The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. It's a really great Christmas movie.

2. What's the best Hallmark movie you've seen?
All of My Heart is super good! It's a great romantic comedy. The mix of funny and sweet parts is perfect.

3. What's your favorite Hallmark movie season?
Well, obviously it's Christmas! There are so many Christmas movies that come out and a ton of them are really fun. Next up though would probably be the June Weddings and the Fall Harvest movies.

4. The last Hallmark movie you saw?
The last Hallmark movie I watched was Stranded in Paradise. It was fun, and better then I had expected.

5. Have you ever decided to watch a Hallmark movie based off it's title?
Yes, I have. I choose to watch My Boyfriends' Dogs because the title looked interesting. Well,...it definitely was an interesting movie! ;)

6. Do you like the Hallmark murder mysteries? If so, which one is your favorite?
I really enjoy the murder mysteries that Hallmark makes. They're not too scary and the actual murder isn't shown, just the investigating and talking about it, so that's nice.
I'm not sure which one is my favorite. I really like the Garage Sale Mysteries, Fixer Upper Mysteries, Aurora Teagarden Mysteries, and the Hailey Dean Mysteries.

7. Favorite Hallmark series?
When Calls the Heart!!!! This is definitely my favorite. Even though this last season was really sad, I still love the show and I do look forward to the next season!

8. A Hallmark movie that had you dying of laughter?
Campfire Kiss had a hilarious scene in it and I was so dying of laughter! Another really funny one is A Very Merry Mix-Up.

9. Is there a Hallmark movie out that you haven't seen yet, but would like to?
I would like to see Moonlight in Vermont sometime soon.

10. What's your most anticipated Hallmark movie?
Well, I actually have quite a few. I'm super excited for:
The Perfect Bride: Wedding Bells (coming in June)
Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Altar (coming in July)
Chesapeake Shores season 3 (coming late summer)
Hailey Dean Mysteries-- 2+2=Murder and A Marriage Made for Murder. There's also one more Hailey Dean Mystery coming soon, but the title to that one hasn't been released yet. (all coming in June)

All right! I tag:
Faith and Victoria
If there's someone out there who likes Hallmark movies then consider yourself tagged and please let me know if you do it so I can check out your posts!

My Friend the Bird

It's that time of year again! This is the third year in a row that we've had a heron at our place. It comes each spring and yes, I like to think it's the same one. ;) It only sticks around for a few days but it likes to perch on our roof and eats some of the fish out of our pond. I really like this bird (aside from the fact that it loves our little fish). Now each spring I look for it. I've grown quite attached to it after my first sighting. ;) Unfortunately I've only seen the heron once this year. It was by our pond and I saw it out the kitchen window, but then it flew away.
Isn't it so pretty though?
If you haven't heard my previous heron stories you can read about my sighting of it here and my follow up story here.

Full House // Series Review

I know I've been talking about Full House lately. It's the show I've recently started watching. Today I decided to do a review style post talking a bit about Full House and why I like it. I'll also have a little smattering of pictures throughout.

So I really practically love two styles of movies: Christian movies and movies with a sweet love story. Well, Full House would not fall into either of those categories so it's a bit of a mystery to me as to why I like it. ;)
I started watching Full House around February. It started playing on the Hallmark Channel the first of the year. I'll admit, around Christmastime when a preview of Full House was being played on Hallmark, I thought it looked strange. Anyways, somehow I got stuck on the show and my brothers and I went together and bought the whole series on DVD. Full House is 8 seasons long (192 episodes).

Full House is a fun show about a family and about their life. I really like movies/shows about family and this one in particular is also really funny. Although it does have some of those heartwarming parts as well. :)

The family consists of Danny Tanner, a widower and father to 3 girls who has a TV talk show; Jesse Katsopolis, Danny's brother-in-law who moves in to help Danny raise the girls and who is a rock n roll kind of guy who has a band; Joey Gladstone who also moved in to help Danny, and wants to be a comedian and is always trying to make people laugh.
Then there is the Tanner girls. DJ is the oldest. The show starts when she is 10 and ends when she is 18. Stephanie is the middle child. She's 5 when the show starts and 13 when it ends. Then there's Michelle the youngest. When the show starts she is a baby and she is 8 when it ends.
There are other characters as the family grows, but I don't want to give everything away. ;)

I can see how some people might not enjoy this show though.
There are a couple comments that aren't always the best and there is some adult humor. God's name is taken in vain a few times. I don't like that but it is not very often. I'm not saying that that makes it okay, just that if it was all the time I wouldn't be watching the show.

So there you have it. A little bit about Full House and why I like it. Plus some of the not as good stuff so you know about that.

Some of my favorite episodes are: A Pox in Our House, The Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, Happy Birthday Babies, The Wedding, Secret Admirer, and many others.

So, have you seen Full House? If so, what's your favorite episode? Who's your favorite character?
If you haven't seen it do you want to? I'll admit, it is a bit strange at times, but funny too. ;)

Book Shopping, A Recital, and Family ~ My April Highlights

Hello all! I seriously can't believe April is over. It seemed to fly by faster then most months.

~April got started off with Easter. My family and I went to Easter service then came home and had an early dinner with my grandparents.

~My mom and I went book shopping a couple times throughout the month and I found lots of fun books, including some Guidepost mysteries!

~I was in a reading slump for most of the month which was sad, but I think I'm almost out of it and ready to read a bunch in May!

~The book club was on April 13 and the book we were discussing was The Voyage on the Great Titanic. It was super cool because the day of the book club was the same day that 106 years ago the Titanic was sailing across the ocean.

~My aunt and uncle shared this quote with my dad who then shared it with me.

~My aunt and uncle (not the same ones as mentioned above) came out to visit for a few days. They came out because my uncle was going to play a song with my brother and I for my brother, Jonathan's senior recital. We had lots of fun visiting with them. One night my uncle, on the guitar, and me, on the violin, played around. My favorite songs that we played together was Stinky's Blues and Green, Green, Grass.

~Jonathan's senior recital went well and I played two songs with him and my uncle. It was a lot of fun. Usually whenever I play in a recital I get so nervous and I don't do that well. This time though I felt really good about how I played.

~I went to see I Can Only Imagine again, but this time I went with two of my friends.
I finished watching When Calls the Heart season 5. It was a roller coaster of emotions, but I do look forward to seeing where season 6 goes next year.
My brothers and I are still watching (and enjoying!) Full House. We are almost done with the whole series.

Since I was in that reading slump, I really didn't read much at all.  Most of the books I read were books for a much younger audience, but oh well. ;) The books I read were:
The Voyage on the Great Titanic by Ellen Emerson White
It’s a Twin Thing by Judy Katschke
The Case of the Great Elephant Escape by June Doolittle
Love Finds You in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts by Melody Carlson
The Case of the Surfing Secret by Cathy East Dubowski

What have you been up to lately?
Any fun plans for May? Some really fun things are happening in my life in May. You'll get to hear all about it in my May Highlight post! ;D
