Spring,... It's Coming to an End

Spring is getting close to ending and summer will be here before we know it. Around here it’s definitely starting to feel like summer. Although we still have some spring weather every once in awhile. The last couple of days it has been around 80 degrees, but last week it was cold and rainy. The weather keeps changing from cold and rainy to hot and sunny.

Springtime is really nice because the flowers start coming up and the birds are around a lot. Also the weather can, some days, be just perfect.
Today I’m going to share a couple different pictures from around here of the pretty flowers that we have. Some of them have already come and gone, but the rest of the flowers are still around.

I'm not sure what these flowers are, but they come up every year.

I think these tulips are just so pretty with all the white ones and just one pink one.

I just love the color of these tulips too!

This bird was sitting it the tree, right outside my bedroom window. :)

What are some of your favorite flowers?
Are you looking forward to summer coming?

The Sunroom // Book Review

From the Back Cover:
When I was twelve, I made a naïve, yet desperate pact with God to keep my ailing mother alive. It was the first time I'd ventured something so brazen--making a contract with the Almighty...

So begins the story of Becky Owens, a talented and passionate young pianist on the verge of adolescence when she learns the devastating news of her mother's critical illness. As the daughter of a country preacher in Lancaster County, Becky knows well the significance of sacrifice, and in her bargain with God, she vows to exchange her most cherished possession for her mother's life. Hospital rules only add to Becky's sorrow--twelve-year-olds aren't allowed to visit, so Becky and her mother must share tearful smiles through Lancaster General's sunroom window. But a realization of the power of music and a lesson in unconditional love compel Becky to rethink her "deal" with God, and the sunroom becomes a place where miracles happen...

The Sunroom was one of the first books that I read by Beverly Lewis. It is a short, sweet book, but also sad. This book is a bit different from most of Beverly Lewis' books. It is about a 12 year old girl and is written from her perspective. Although a little different, I still enjoyed it.

I give this book 8 out of 10 R's

The Return of the Exotic Bird

Okay, so last summer I did a post on my sighting of an exotic bird. If you missed that interesting story of mine you can read it here. ;)
Well, folks! The bird (that turned out to be a heron) is back. So, last year when I first saw a heron was in late April and I just saw a heron again yesterday. I’m guessing it just comes around our place in the spring. While it’s here it helps itself to the fish in our pond. We have too many fish, but that isn’t exactly the way we want to get rid of them. ;)
Anyways, I just wanted to share my “exotic” bird update with you all! :)

I'm happy that I was able to get a nice, clear picture of it this time!
