I have an exciting announcement! I am writing a book! I seriously can't believe I'm doing it. I never considered myself a writer. I never wanted to write a book. There were a few times that it sounded fun, but I never seriously considered it. In January of 2017 I got the idea for a book. I pretty much wrote the whole story in my head, but unfortunately I couldn't get the words to flow out of my head and onto the paper.
I tried to get it written out a few times, but it just wasn't working.
In February of this year I started trying again to write that book, but kept having the same issues. I prayed about it, and came to the conclusion that maybe I should try something a bit simpler. The story I was trying to write was fairly complex and I wanted it to portray lots of different emotions, so I decided to set that aside for the time being and try something else.
I wasn't sure what that something else would be, but one day it just came to me and the words just started flowing! I felt like I couldn't write fast enough! It was definitely all God. I couldn't have done this without Him!
I'm now at around 12,600 words. My story is coming along nicely and the creative juices are flowing for that other book that I set on hold, so that's exciting. Both of these stories now hold a special place in my heart.
The story I am currently working on is a contemporary book about a 15 year old girl named Laura. At the beginning of the story her mom dies and Laura goes to live with her father that she has never really met. It's a story about how God has a plan for everything, about living life to the fullest, about finding the rainbows in life, and about seasons of change...
I'm so excited about this new adventure! You'll be hearing more about my book in a few weeks. I have something fun planned with a friend!
My friend, Brooklyne, has been so encouraging in my writing journey. She is also in the process of writing a book, so it's fun to be able to chat about our works in progress together and do word sprints! (Those are so fun!)
I bought this super cute flash drive. It's a little glass bottle with a cork top. So now I literally have a message in a bottle! :)

My Summer Thus Far
Summer is officially here (and halfway over at that)!! I'm looking forward to all that the rest of summer brings.
(This is kinda scary, but did you know that Christmas is in 21 weeks??)
Summer has been pretty good so far. There has been a few not so great things, but that's just life. Why focus on the negative when we can focus on the good in life?
~Each June our town has a carnival and it is so much fun. I love riding rides. I met up with some of my friends there which was a blast.
~I went to the library in June! I haven't been in awhile so that was super exciting. :) Although I got too many books, and read hardly any of them....
~Three friends of mine came over and we had our annual When Calls the Heart marathon. It was fun watching season 6 together!
~I started a bookish Instagram account! That's been a lot of fun. Feel free to check it out here.
~My dad's work had an employee work party and that was a fun night. For dinner there were food trucks. That was my first time eating at a food truck. (I always thought food trucks seemed a bit shady for some reason, but hey, I'm still here to tell about it. ;)) I totally felt like Hailey Dean though from Hallmark's Hailey Dean Mysteries. If you've seen those movies then you know what I'm talking about. ;)
~My phone dropped into a small puddle of ketchup....that's an interesting story..., but anyway, my phone was completely fine, I just was cleaning ketchup out of the case for a few days to come.

~I sold books at a used curriculum sale. It was fun! I bought a few too, but thankfully I sold way more then I bought.
~The nasty mosquitoes are out. Those things love me and I currently have several bites.
~In April I started writing a book. I can't believe it at all! It's actually coming along quite well though.

I love my little bottle flash-drive. It really is a little message in a bottle!
~My mom, two of my brothers and I went to see Toy Story 4 in the theatre. I really like the Toy Story movies, so I was super excited to see this new one, but unfortunately, it wasn't very good and was quite a disappointment...
~I watched some fun Hallmark mystery movies so far this summer:
Picture Perfect Murder: Newlywed and Dead
Mystery 101: Playing Dead
Hailey Dean: Killer Sentence

~Aside from those Hallmark movies I haven't seen many other Hallmark movies. I (you may want to sit down for this) haven't been in a Hallmark mood for several weeks now.
~I read an amazing book three weeks ago. It was Katie in Waiting by Erynn Mangum. It is definitely a new favorite! It was really encouraging and I could relate to the main character, Katie, so much! It was crazy how similar we are!!
~For the 4th of July my family and I went over to my grandpa's house for dinner, then later in the evening we met up with some friends to watch fireworks.
~I just got done with staying a few nights with a girl we know while her parents were out of town. It was pretty fun once I got over my homesickness. ;) The girl I stayed with and I did stuff like bake cupcakes together, watch movies, do doll stuff, and other things.
That's pretty much my summer thus far in a nutshell. ;)
I hope everyone is having a lovely summer!
