Love Needs No Words // Book Review

Today is the release of Faith Potts newest book, Love Needs No Words! You can purchase it here.
I've been wanting to review this book and decided that the day it comes out would be perfect. :)

From the Back Cover:
Home from college for the summer, Shay Williams has many plans. Crossing paths with her childhood crush was not on the list. Yet when Daniel Rogers, a young mute man, reappears in her life, the friendship that once blossomed between them is rekindled.
Daniel is mesmerized by this sweet girl who has a heart for deaf and mute children. But is it wrong of him to want to know her better, considering his inability? The last thing he wants to become is another charity case.
Follow these two young people through a summer of discovery as they learn valuable truths about friendship and love – a love that speaks not from the lips but from the heart.

Love Needs No Words is a nice, sweet short story. I really liked the story and both main characters, Daniel and Shay, were great! This book has sign language as a big part of the story which was pretty cool.
This is definitely a book I'd recommend. :)

I give this book 9 out of 10 R's

Iditarod 2018

The first couple Iditarod mushers have made it to the finish line in Nome! Joar Leifseth Ulsom won 1st place. He completed the race in 9d 12h 0m 0s.
The Iditarod is so much fun to follow! I admit that when my mom first said that we were going to follow the Iditarod for school that it didn’t sound very fun. I ended up having the most fun with it though! :)
During the Iditarod my younger brothers and I do the reading Iditarod. That is where you read a certain amount of pages based on how many miles the Iditarod is. Like when they take the northern route which is 975 miles we would read 975 pages and the same with the southern route. It is a fun, friendly competition that we enjoy doing each year. We always look forward to seeing which of us wins that.
If you have never followed the Iditarod before then I highly encourage you to do so! It starts the first Saturday in March with the ceremonial start and then the re-start is the next day.

To Get to You // Book Review

From the Back Cover:
To get to the girl he loves, Riley Kane must head off on a road trip with the father he never knew. Then pray for a miracle. Most teens would love to have a pro surfer for a dad. Just not Riley. Abandoned as a kid, he hates the sound of the ocean and the man who gave himself to it. When the eighteen-year-old learns that his best friend is stranded at a New Mexico hospital as her father fights for his life, Riley hits the highway to head east. But when his Jeep breaks down before he even leaves California, he must rely on the one man he despises to get to the girl who needs him the most. And when it comes to the surfer with the Volkswagen van and dog-eared map, a thousand miles may–or may not–be enough to heal the past. A story of new beginnings and second chances.

To Get to You is such a good book! A friend of mine told me how good this book was so, of course, I had to read it. I’m so glad I did! I had only read one other book by Joanne Bischof, but this is definitely my favorite. The story follows Riley, an eighteen year old. His dad is a pro surfer, but Riley doesn’t exactly like his father a whole lot since he left Riley and his mom when Riley was a kid. When Riley finds out that his friends father is in the hospital in New Mexico he sets off from California to be with his friend Becca and her family. Riley’s car breaks down and his only option left is to ask his dad for help. So Riley, his dad, and his dads friend set off on a road trip. There is some tension in the book because of strained relationships, but it has those heartfelt moments too. I was thinking that there was going to be quite a bit of faith content, but there really wasn’t. It was a story about grace and redemption, but not too much faith content at all. Also the book is only written from Riley’s point of view. That was different for me since pretty much all of the books I read are from the girl and sometimes the girl and guys point of view. I really enjoyed To Get to You though and I’m glad I read it!

I give this book 9 R's out of 10

Christy Miller’s Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob. They are definitely on the rich side.

Fern Sedano from Dylan’s Story. Yes, Fern could definitely cause a scene. She has been know to be a bit difficult.

Elsie Dinsmore. She is pretty popular. It seems like pretty much everyone, whether they’ve read the books or not, has heard of Elsie Dinsmore.

6. One Villain.
Procopio the Red-handed from Courageous Love. He was really horrible.

Laylie Colbert. She is a fun character and more people need to read her story. Especially if you’ve read the Millie books.

10. One Character of your own choosing.
Sallie Riehl because she is so sweet and fun.

I'm not going to tag anyone, but feel free to do this one if you want! :D
