September Highlights

Wow, I can't believe how fast September has gone by! This is one of my favorite months. I really like fall, with the colder weather and changing colors of the leaves. :)

Some of my highlights from this past month were:
--I started re-reading the A Life of Faith books. I love those books so much, especially Millie. :) Right now I'm on Millie's Faithful Heart. I didn't get as far into the series as I had hoped to, but I look forward to continuing to make my way through this wonderful series.

--One of my brothers and I are going to be playing our violins in a Christmas concert in December and the orchestra practices started this month.

--My birthday! :D

This month I read 7 books. I read:
On Distant Shores by Sarah Sundin
Millie's Unsettled Season by Martha Finley, adapted by Kersten Hamilton
Love Finds You in Wildrose North Dakota by Tracey Bateman
Millie's Courageous Days by Martha Finley, adapted by Kersten Hamilton
In Perfect Time by Sarah Sundin
Fitting In by Rebekah A. Morris
Millie's Remarkable Journey by Martha Finley, adapted by Kersten Hamilton

How was your September? Are you looking forward to more fall days?

Heart of the Wilderness // Book Review

From the Back Cover:
George McMannus traveled night and day from his wilderness cabin when the tragic news that his daughter and son-in-law had died in a river accident. His only granddaughter, Kendra Marty, not yet four years old, had been left behind. McMannus was her only family, but what could a trapper, living alone in the backwoods, do to care for Kendra?

She was such a tiny thing, so small to have lost so much. He should have known from the first time he looked into those large green eyes that the two of them belonged together. The one small child, firmly clutching a worn rag doll, was his, and he was hers.

Papa Mac, as Kendra came to call him, knew her place was with him. But what kind of home, what kind of training, could he provide in a wilderness mountains and trees and rivers that no one had even named? Although he did not have answers, he felt he must at least try.

Heart of the Wilderness is a really good book. It has a nice sweet story and the characters were all great. I really liked Kendra. The book started when she was almost four years old and it was fun to watch her grow up from an adorable little girl to a sweet young lady.
I would definitely recommend this book.

I give this book 8.5 out of 10 R's

You Know You're a Book Lover If...

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful weekend!
I've been wanting to do this post for awhile now, but just haven't gotten around to it. ;)
Okay, lets get started!

You Know You're a Book Lover If...

--Someone asks you what you want for Christmas or your birthday and the first thing that you say is books.

--You stand in front of your bookshelf gazing at your books, counting up the ones you haven't read yet, trying to decide the next few to read, and/or remembering where you got them from.

--You go to the library and check out books even though you have a whole stack of books that you own at home, but haven't gotten to read yet.

--Someone mentions a certain activity or something and you think, "Oh, just like so and so did in that book!"

--You frequently ask people what book they're currently reading.

--One of your favorite places to go is a place that sells books.

--Someone mentions a date to you and the first thing that you think of is that the book you can't wait for comes out that same day.

--You find a book by your favorite author that just came out and you tell everyone in your family when it's coming out, what the title is, and show them a picture of the cover.

--Someone asks you what your favorite book is or who your favorite author is and you end up listing more than one.

So, can you relate to any of these?
I hope you enjoyed! :)
